Love sets me free!
About the happiness of being allowed to love.

A little more than a year ago, on the first anniversary of my wife’s death, I wrote a post about the happiness of being allowed to love. The theme has long been a „basso continuo“ of my life, like a fundamental and sustaining basic melody on which everything current rests.

When I look at politics in our country and the world, I am shocked at how little the actors consider the sensitivities and needs of those who disagree with them. It’s always about the WE versus the THEM.

In my coaching work, I also meet people, especially at the beginning of a process, who are looking for help in getting their wishes fulfilled by their partner putting theirs on the back burner.

„If only you would change, everything would be fine!

If, on the contrary, all parties involved make sure that the interests of others are also served, many conflicts cannot arise.

I also don’t believe that it is wholesome to disregard one’s own needs! Instead, it is a matter of loving one’s neighbour as much as oneself, no more, no less, just the same!

I definitely disagree with Francis of Assisi when he says in his wonderful prayer:

Not that I may be loved, but that I may love!“

I am happy that I can love myself and that I am allowed to love others without having to expect a „return on invest“.

Love sets me free!

Love for people is the basis of all good coaching work! You can put me to the test!
