How do management and oxygen meet?
What behaviour characterises a good manager?
„He is a good coach“, found Google’s study „Oxygene“!
Since the early 2000s, Google has conducted a multi-year study to identify eight behaviours that distinguish good managers and presented it to the public in 2012.
All eight behaviours relate to the manager’s relationship with his team. In first place is high coaching competence.
A good manager should first and foremost be a good coach!
Acquiring a high level of coaching competence is therefore of great value,
both for people in leadership positions who want to increase their management competence and for future coaches.
That corresponds to my personal experience from my training work in systemic coaching. Among the participants in my courses were many who were not aiming for a career as a coach but wanted to increase their management competence.
Some of them have made a career out of it.
This autumn, I will start a new course in systemic coaching, which I have designed for people who want to work as coaches but also for those who wish to develop their leadership skills in their current work.
